Use this glossary as the plain-language reference for reusable business and warehouse concepts in ShipOS. It is written for people who may be new to fulfillment, shipping, inventory, or warehouse software.

Orders & Fulfillment
Bulk Ship
- A process that lets handle many similar together instead of each one at a time. For example, a might use Bulk Ship for hundreds of identical subscription boxes.View documentationAlso called: Bulk Shipping
Draft Order
- An editable that has not yet entered warehouse processing. It can optionally reserve while payment or approval is pending. A reservation does not change or ; instead, it increases , which is subtracted from so another customer cannot buy the held quantity. When the draft becomes an active order, the reservation moves from Unavailable to as are created. For example, a B2B seller can hold inventory for a customer while waiting for payment.View documentationAlso called: Draft Orders
Fulfillment
- A record of work completed for part or all of a . It identifies the and quantities sent to the customer and is tied to exactly one . The package records the and used for that shipment. A fulfillment order can produce one or more fulfillments when its products ship in separate packages. For example, if ten items are split between two boxes, Cybership creates two fulfillments, one for each five-item package and its shipping label.View documentationAlso called: Fulfillments
Fulfillment Hold
- A temporary stop that prevents a from moving into , , or shipping until someone releases the hold or resolves its issue. For example, an may be held while an incorrect address is corrected.Also called: Fulfillment Holds, On Hold
Fulfillment Location
- A place recognized by a as able to prepare and ship . In Cybership, it normally represents or connects to a that can receive assigned orders.Also called: Fulfillment Locations, Shopify Fulfillment Location, Shopify Fulfillment Locations
Fulfillment Order
- An automatically created record of work assigned to Cybership for one . Unlike the complete imported order, this record represents work a Cybership warehouse must complete. It tracks the and quantities to fulfill, the assigned warehouse, when the work is due, the or to use, and progress through , , and shipping. decide the warehouse assignment: Shopify provides the routing for Shopify orders, while Cybership applies its own rules to non-Shopify orders. The order-creation process automatically produces one or more of these records for a single order. Line Item
- One entry on an or other record, including the product and the quantity involved. The same product can appear in more than one line when its details differ.Also called: Line Items, Order Line, Order Lines
Manual Fulfillment
- A way to record selected as shipped without using Cybership's standard process. For example, a might use Manual Fulfillment to record a replacement prepared outside the normal workflow.Also called: Manual Fulfillments
Order
- The complete customer purchase record imported from a connected . Cybership imports every order the channel provides for visibility, including orders whose fulfillment work is assigned elsewhere. Importing an order does not mean a Cybership must fulfill it. During order creation, determine the assignments that produce one or more . Packing Station

Partial Fulfillment
- A shipment containing only some of the or quantities on an . For example, two in-stock products may ship today while an out-of-stock product ships later.Also called: Partially Fulfilled, Split Fulfillment
Picking Cart

Picking Session
- A group of assigned to a for one guided trip. For example, Cybership can guide a worker through the needed to collect for ten at once.View documentationAlso called: Picking Sessions, Pick Session, Pick Sessions
Routing Rule
- A rule that determines which should handle each . Shopify runs its routing rules for Shopify and sends the resulting assignments to Cybership. For non-Shopify orders, Cybership applies its own routing rules using factors such as sellable , customer proximity, the default warehouse, and any explicitly selected warehouse.Also called: Routing Rules, Warehouse Routing Rule, Warehouse Routing Rules
Tote
- A reusable container used during . Workers scan it as the destination for picked from storage, which keeps the picked stock associated with the correct until . In a Multi Item Batch, each Fulfillment Order normally has its own tote, often in a position. A Single Item Batch can use one shared tote for the session. Products
Assembly Product
- A create by physically combining or repackaging one or more before it can be stocked or sold as its own item. For example, workers might place a mug, tea packets, and an insert into a branded gift box to create one with its own .
Each

Product

Product Listing
- The version of a shown on a , including its store title and identifying codes. For example, a Shopify listing called “Blue T-Shirt” can connect to the matching Cybership product.View documentationAlso called: Product Listings, Listing, Listings
Product Variant
- A specific version of a that a customer can buy, such as one size or color. Each product variant can have its own or .Also called: Product Variants, Variant, Variants, Listing Variant, Listing Variants
SKU
- Short for stock keeping unit: a unique code used to distinguish and track a or .Also called: SKUs, Stock Keeping Unit, Stock Keeping Units
Inventory
Available
- The quantity sent to connected and offered for new . Available equals plus , minus and . does not increase Available unless some of it is designated as Sell Ahead.
Committed
- promised to through an while they wait for , , or shipping. Committed is subtracted from but does not by itself change . It can be supported by or inventory. For example, if an active reserves 2 of 10 sellable units, those 2 units are Committed.
Inventory
- The and quantities a stores and tracks, including where they are located and whether they can be sold, reserved, or moved. Cybership describes related parts of inventory as , , , , , , and .View documentationAlso called: Stock
On Hand
- The total quantity of a physically present in a , including stock in both sellable and non-sellable . Changes to or do not by themselves change On Hand. Stock that is is not On Hand until the warehouse receives it.
On Hand (Sellable)
- The portion of stored in allowed to supply . It is the physical-stock starting point for inventory. For example, 20 units on a normal picking shelf count as On Hand (Sellable), while 3 damaged units in a do not.Also called: Sellable On Hand
On Order
- The quantity of a on from a that the has not yet received. On Order is not yet and does not increase unless some of it is designated as .
Sell Ahead
- The portion of that a chooses to offer for sale before the receives it. Sell Ahead increases even though the units are not yet . For example, a merchant may allow customers to buy 50 incoming units expected next week.
Stock Record
- A record of how much of one is stored in one , including the quantity and any applicable . For example, it might record 25 units of a product in shelf A-01 from lot 123.View documentationAlso called: Stock Records, Product Stock, Product Stocks
Locations
Gaylord
- A large bulk shipping container, often a pallet-sized box, used to group many outbound for one . In the Cybership mobile app, a worker scans each package's as the package is placed inside, linking it to that Gaylord. The closed Gaylord's contents and audit history provide -side evidence that the linked packages were placed in an outbound container believed to have left the warehouse. If a customer later disputes a shipment, the warehouse can use that history to investigate whether the package was included before carrier pickup. Hospital Location
- A that keeps problem out of and . For example, a leaking bottle can be moved there while someone investigates it.
Location
- A named place or container in a used to organize and track .View documentationAlso called: Locations
Location Type
- A category that describes how a is used, such as storage, , , or . It can also control capacity reporting or billing.View documentationAlso called: Location Types
LPN
- Short for license plate number: a unique code attached to a movable pallet or container so Cybership can track it through the . For example, can scan an LPN as they move a pallet from to storage.Also called: LPNs, License Plate Number, License Plate Numbers
Non-sellable Bin
- A whose is excluded from quantities, commonly used for , damaged , or quality review.
Overstock Bin
- A reserve storage that holds extra for . For example, a pallet of may stay in an overstock bin until use it to refill a shelf.
Static Location
- A fixed storage position, such as a shelf, bin, or rack.Also called: Static Locations
Warehouse
- A physical facility where is received, stored, processed, and shipped. A warehouse contains named storage and can be assigned .View documentationAlso called: Warehouses
Shipping
Carrier
- A company that transports , such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, or another delivery provider.View documentationAlso called: Carriers, Shipping Carrier, Shipping Carriers
Carton
- A saved box or mailer option that can select when an . It stores the packaging's name, dimensions, and empty weight. For example, a might save an option named “Small Mailer.” The is the physical parcel sent to the customer; the carton is the reusable option it was based on.View documentationAlso called: Cartons
Dimensional Weight
- The billable shipping weight calculated from how much space a occupies. For example, a large box holding a lightweight pillow may be priced as heavier than its scale weight because it takes up more space.Also called: DIM Weight, Dim Weight
Manifest
- A pickup document that groups the for multiple under one scannable barcode. For example, instead of scanning 50 package labels individually, the pickup driver scans the form once to record pickup of all included packages. It includes only the packages grouped onto the form when it was created, typically for one carrier.View documentationAlso called: Manifests, Scan Form, Scan Forms
Package
- The physical box, mailer, envelope, or other container holding a will transport together. A package records its contents, size, weight, , and . When products are shipped, each is tied to exactly one package; if a ships in two packages, it produces two fulfillments.View documentationAlso called: Packages, Parcel, Parcels
Rate Shop
- A reusable rule that defines which specific your operation is willing to use and how Cybership should choose among them for a . Configure the approved domestic and international services, delivery-time limits, and service preferences once. At the station, Cybership compares only those approved options and automatically selects the winner, so packers do not have to understand every carrier service or manually compare rates for each . This speeds up label buying and keeps shipping decisions consistent.View documentationAlso called: Rate Shops, Rate Shopping
Return to Sender
- A shipment the is sending back to its origin instead of delivering to the recipient. This can happen when an address is invalid, delivery is refused, or delivery attempts cannot be completed. It is different from a , which the customer starts after receiving or taking possession of an .Also called: Carrier Return, Carrier Returns, RTS
Service Level
- A saved combination of the shipping integration, , and delivery service Cybership should use to buy a . For example, EasyPost + USPS + Ground Advantage is one service level. Choosing it tells Cybership to use the EasyPost connection, USPS as the carrier, and Ground Advantage as the service.Also called: Service Levels, Carrier Service, Carrier Services, Carrier Service Level, Carrier Service Levels
Shipment Mapping
- A reusable rule that links the selected by a customer at checkout for a or to the shipping instructions for related . Cybership records the selection on the and normally carries it forward when the fulfillment work is created. If a sales channel provides a more specific Shipping Method for an individual Fulfillment Order, Cybership uses that value instead. A mapping can apply to one Shop or all Shops and can use either an exact or contains match. It assigns either a or a . Its daily cutoff and same-day, next-day, or two-day timing are used to calculate each Fulfillment Order's ship-by deadline, normally when the accepts the work. For example, “Two-Day Delivery” can map to EasyPost + UPS + 2nd Day Air and require work accepted before 2:00 p.m. to ship the same day. Create one only for Shipping Methods that should get a specific carrier service, a Rate Shop, or different ship-by timing. When Cybership receives a new Shipping Method with no matching mapping, it saves a disabled draft for you to finish. Until a mapping is enabled, Fulfillment Orders with that Shipping Method use your Default SLA.View documentationAlso called: Shipment Mappings
Shipping Label
- The document created for a and usually attached to it before shipping. It identifies where the package comes from, where it is going, its , and the used for delivery. Each is tied to one package, so the package's label and tracking number identify that fulfillment's physical shipment.View documentationAlso called: Shipping Labels, Carrier Label, Carrier Labels
Shipping Method
- The delivery option a customer selects at checkout in a or , such as “Standard Shipping” or “Two-Day Delivery.” Cybership records this choice on the and carries it forward when it creates related . On its own, a Shipping Method is only the name the Shop sends; it does not tell the how to ship. Add a when that name should decide how the work ships: the mapping assigns a or and sets the ship-by timing. For example, map “Two-Day Delivery” to UPS 2nd Day Air. Not every Shipping Method needs a mapping. Without an enabled mapping, the Fulfillment Order can still be packed and shipped, and Cybership uses your Default SLA for its ship-by deadline.Also called: Shipping Methods, Requested Shipping Method

Component
- A or material used to assemble or produce another product through a . For example, a mug, tea packet, or branded box can be a component of a gift set.Also called: Components, Component Product, Component Products
Disposition
- The decision about what happens to an inspected item, such as restocking it, placing it in , returning it to a , or disposing of it.Also called: Return Disposition
Finished Good
- A completed created from and added to when a production finishes. For example, the completed gift set becomes a finished good with its own .Also called: Finished Goods, Produced Product, Produced Products
Purchase Order
- A record of expected from a or supplier. For example, a purchase order may record that 100 shirts are expected next Tuesday and track how many actually arrive.View documentationAlso called: Purchase Orders, PO, POs
Putaway
- The process of moving newly received from the area into its assigned storage . For example, a may move a received case from the loading area to shelf B-12.Also called: Put Away
Receiving
- The process of checking delivered to the against a or another expected delivery, then adding the accepted quantities to .Also called: Receive Inventory, Inbound Receiving
Return

RMA
- Short for merchandise authorization: a reference number used to approve and track a return from creation through processing.Also called: Return Merchandise Authorization, RMA Number, RMA Numbers
Vendor

Work Order
- Instructions for work outside the normal process of shipping . For example, a work order for an can tell which and quantities to use when making 50 gift sets.View documentationAlso called: Work Orders
Warehouse Operations
Allocation
- set aside for a specific so the same units are not promised to another . For example, allocating 2 of 10 units leaves those 2 units to that order.Also called: Allocations, Allocated, Inventory Allocation, Inventory Allocations
Cycle Count
- A scheduled check that compares selected physical with Cybership's recorded quantities without stopping all operations. For example, a warehouse might count one aisle each day instead of closing for one full inventory count.View documentationAlso called: Cycle Counts
Discrepancy
- A difference between the quantity recorded by the system and the quantity physically counted. For example, Cybership showing 10 units when a finds 8 creates a discrepancy of 2.
FEFO
- First expired, first out: a rule that selects with the earliest expiration date before inventory that expires later.Also called: First Expired, First Out, First Expire, First Out
Inventory Adjustment
- A change to the quantity recorded in Cybership after someone confirms that physical stock was added, lost, corrected, or moved. For example, a may adjust 10 units down to 8 after confirming that 2 were damaged.Also called: Inventory Adjustments, Stock Adjustment, Stock Adjustments
Inventory Change
- A history record showing why Cybership created, increased, decreased, moved, or removed an quantity. For example, 10 units creates an increase, while 2 units records why stock decreased.Also called: Inventory Changes, Inventory Change Log, Inventory Change Logs, Inventory History
Location Count
- A that checks every stored within selected . For example, counting shelf A-01 means checking every physically present on that shelf.
Location Issue
- A tracked problem involving or a , such as damage, incorrect stock, or blocked access.
Lot Code
- A code that groups units made or received together so can trace that group. For example, food made on the same day may share one lot code for expiration tracking or a recall.Also called: Lot Codes, Lot Number, Lot Numbers, Batch Code, Batch Codes
Needs Replenishment
- A state showing that a needs more . Cybership uses it when the pick face does not have enough inventory for allocated or its quantity has fallen below the .
Packing
- The process of checking collected during , placing them into , and preparing each package for shipping. For example, a may scan two shirts, place them in a mailer, and apply a .Also called: Pack, Packed
Picking
- The process of retrieving the correct and quantities from storage . For example, a may collect two shirts from shelf A-01 for a .Also called: Pick, Picked
Product Count
- A that checks selected everywhere they are stored. For example, counting one means checking that product in every shelf, bin, and pallet .
Quarantine
- The process of isolating with a possible problem so it stays out of and . For example, damaged or recalled can remain in quarantine until someone decides what to do with them.Also called: Quarantined
Replenishment

3PL
- A third-party logistics provider: a business hired by other companies to store and perform , , and shipping for .Also called: Third-Party Logistics, Third Party Logistics, 3PLs
Charge

Fulfiller

Invoice

Managed Account
- A sign-in that a creates and owns for one person, such as a without a work email. The person signs in with the username the team chose and a temporary password, then sets a new password at first sign-in. Team members with permission to manage members can change the name, username, and email and reset the password. A managed account belongs only to the team that created it and cannot join other teams.Also called: Managed Accounts
Merchant

Rate Card

Sales Channel

Shop

Team

Unmanaged Account
- A person's own Cybership sign-in, added to a by email invitation. The person accepts the invitation, signs in with their own email address, and sets or resets their own password. The team controls their role and access but cannot change their name, email, or password. The same account can belong to several teams.Also called: Unmanaged Accounts

Clock In

Labor Activity

Labor Job
