Picking Carts

Model a physical cart grid, link totes to positions, and reuse the cart across multi-item picking sessions.

Picking Carts connect a physical cart and its tote positions to a Multi Item Batch.

Go to ShipOS → Fulfill → Picking Carts (opens the Cybership dashboard in a new tab) and select a warehouse.

Create a Picking Cart

  1. Click Create Picking Cart.
  2. Enter a descriptive Name.
  3. Add or scan the cart Barcode when used.
  4. Enter the number of Rows and Columns in the physical grid.
  5. Optionally set Min Units Per Order and Max Units Per Order.
  6. Click Create Picking Cart.

Rows multiplied by columns determine how many tote positions the cart supplies to a picking session.

Generate a cart label

Open the cart actions and choose Generate Picking Cart Label. Select a published Picking Cart template from Customization Labels, then generate and print the label.

Place the label where a picker can scan it without covering a tote position.

Use the cart in a batch

  1. Create a Multi Item Batch from Picking Sessions.
  2. Choose Select Picking Cart.
  3. Select an available cart in the current warehouse.
  4. Scan or select one empty, unassigned tote for each grid slot.
  5. Complete the remaining filters and start the session.

Totes must belong to the current warehouse. Every grid slot needs a tote; use Define Manually in Picking Sessions for a smaller batch.

The cart's grid size and unit limits pre-fill the batch. The web and mobile session keep each fulfillment order associated with its tote position.

Availability

StatusMeaning
AvailableThe cart is not linked to an active picking session
In useAn active session still owns at least one linked tote position

An in-use cart becomes available after all of its linked totes have been packed or moved to a hospital location.

Open the cart detail page to see its grid and active session. Orders with a tote-position issue are called out separately from positioned orders.

Update or delete a cart

Use the cart actions to update its name, barcode, grid, or batch limits while the cart is Available.

An In use cart cannot be updated or deleted. Pack or resolve its remaining linked totes first. After the cart becomes available, deleting it is permanent.
