Products
Product management for inventory and warehouse operations.
Manage the your warehouse stores and ships. A connects it to a sales channel; its and help identify it.
Creating Products
- Open ShipOS → Products (opens the Cybership dashboard in a new tab) and select Actions → Create Product.
- Enter the name and select the product type.
- Add a stable SKU, manufacturer part number (MPN), weight, dimensions, and an image where useful for identification.
- Add country of origin, HS code, customs description, and value for international shipping.
- Save, then use the product tabs for inventory, configuration, vendors, listings, and barcodes. Open Adjustment History to review inventory movements.
Products can also be created through sales-channel synchronization or CSV import.
SKUs are optional and need not be unique. Duplicate SKUs make automatic channel matching ambiguous; use a distinct, stable SKU whenever possible.
Product Types
| Type | Use |
|---|---|
| Standard | Pick and ship the item as stocked |
| UoM | Track packaging profiles such as cases and pallets; configure Units of Measure |
| Virtual Bundle | Sell a bundle whose components remain separate until picking |
| Assembly | Produce finished stock from components through a work order |
| Digital | No physical inventory or picking |
Bundle availability is limited by the number of complete bundles every component can supply, accounting for each component's required quantity.
Review existing stock and workflows before changing a product type. UoM products require profiles; bundles and assemblies require components.
Products vs Product Listings
The product owns internal inventory; a listing variant represents a channel's sellable option. Multiple variants can point to one product. Verify links before orders arrive and use the platform guide for synchronization behavior.
Inventory and Access
Use Product Stock for stocking, transfers, lots, and adjustments, or the mobile scanner on the floor. See Understanding Inventory for quantity calculations.
Read, write, and delete product permissions control product access. Stock operations use separate read/write product-stock permissions.
Stock Levels
Each product has three settings that control automatic replenishment—moving stock from bulk storage to pick locations.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Minimum Stock Level | When pickable inventory drops below this number, the product appears on the Replenishment Report. Set this to ensure pickers always have enough stock accessible. |
| Maximum Stock Level | The target quantity to replenish to. If set to 0, the system uses the Minimum Stock Level as the target instead. |
| Increment Level | Replenishment quantities are rounded up to the nearest multiple of this number. Useful for case packs—if products come in cases of 12, set increment to 12. |
How it works:
- When pickable stock falls below the Minimum Stock Level, a replenishment suggestion appears
- The system calculates how much to move: Maximum Stock Level minus current pickable stock
- The quantity is rounded up to the nearest Increment Level
Replenishment only suggests work when non-pickable stock is available to transfer. If all your stock is already in pickable locations, no suggestion appears.
To configure: Navigate to ShipOS → Products (opens the Cybership dashboard in a new tab), select a product, open Config, and edit Replenishment. Product values override the selected warehouse and team defaults.
First Article Inspection
Products that require an initial quality review show an FAI action during purchase-order receiving.
Open the purchase order from ShipOS → Purchase Orders (opens the Cybership dashboard in a new tab), select First Article Inspection for the received product, confirm or update its identity, packaging, dimensions, weight, customs, and supplier information, then click Complete FAI. The received inventory remains in the purchase-order workflow while the initial product record is reviewed.
