Custom Products

Line items that aren't linked to a product in your catalog.

Custom products are order line items that aren't linked to a product in your Cybership catalog. They have a name, SKU, and image from the sales channel, but no internal product record.

When Custom Products Appear

Product deleted on sales channel - A customer ordered a product that was later deleted from Shopify, BigCommerce, or another platform. The order still needs to be fulfilled, but there's no product to link to.

One-off items added to orders - Items added manually to an order on the sales channel that don't exist as products in your catalog.

Unlinked product listings - Orders placed before a product listing was linked to a Cybership product.

What Custom Products Mean for Fulfillment

Custom products can't go through normal picking workflows because there's no inventory to allocate. When a fulfillment order contains custom products:

Custom products have no inventory, no customs information, and no physical attributes. You'll need to handle these items outside of normal warehouse workflows.

Identifying Custom Products

In the fulfillment order view, custom products are marked with a label indicating they're not linked to a Cybership product. You'll also see a warning on fulfillment orders that contain custom products.

Existing order lines capture product information at order creation. Correcting a listing link is intended to prevent future custom-product lines; review existing orders separately.

Preventing Custom Products

To avoid custom products in future orders:

  1. Keep products in sync - Don't delete products from your sales channel while they might still have pending orders
  2. Link product listings - Make sure all product listings are linked to Cybership products before orders come in
  3. Use consistent SKUs - Matching SKUs between your sales channel and Cybership ensures automatic linking
