Shipment Mappings
Route incoming shipping methods to a Rate Shop or specific service level and configure SLAs.
Use a to assign a or from the customer's checkout shipping method and configure the ship-by deadline.
Open ShipOS → Shipping → Shipment Mappings (opens the Cybership dashboard in a new tab) to view and manage your mappings.
From Checkout to Fulfillment Work
- A customer selects a shipping method, such as Standard Shipping or Two-Day Delivery, at checkout in a connected shop or sales channel.
- Cybership records that choice on the order.
- When fulfillment orders are created, Cybership normally carries the order's shipping method onto each one. If a sales channel supplies a more specific delivery method for an individual fulfillment order, Cybership uses that value instead.
- Cybership looks for a matching shipment mapping for that shop. A shop-specific mapping takes priority over an All Shops mapping.
- The selected mapping assigns either a Rate Shop or a specific carrier service level to the fulfillment order.
- When the warehouse accepts the work, Cybership uses the mapping's cutoff and must-ship timing to calculate the fulfillment order's ship-by deadline when one has not already been supplied.
Create a Shipment Mapping
- Select Actions → Create Shipment Mapping.
- Under Shop, choose a specific shop or All Shops.
- Enter the Shipping Method exactly as the shop or sales channel sends the customer's checkout choice.
- Turn on Wildcard Match only when the same mapping should cover several shipping methods containing the text you entered.
- Turn on Set Cutoff Time to configure the cutoff time and must-ship timing for the mapping.
- Choose one routing option:
- Automatic → Rate Shop selects from a configured Rate Shop.
- Direct → Specific Service Level uses a specific carrier integration, carrier, and service level.
- Turn on Enabled when the mapping is ready to route fulfillment orders.
- Select Create Shipment Mapping.
An enabled mapping must have either a Rate Shop or a complete carrier, carrier integration, and service-level selection. Leave the mapping disabled if you need to save it as a draft.
How Matching Works
Cybership compares shipping methods without regard to capitalization. It checks mappings in this order:
- Exact shipping method for the order's shop
- Exact shipping method for All Shops
- Wildcard shipping method for the order's shop
- Wildcard shipping method for All Shops
A wildcard mapping is a text match, not a glob pattern. For example, a wildcard mapping for express can match Express Shipping and International Express.
Use exact mappings when possible. Avoid overlapping wildcard text because only one matching mapping is selected.
Review Automatically Created Mappings
When Cybership receives a new shipping method with no matching rule, it creates a disabled draft mapping. The draft does not have a routing selection.
Open the draft, confirm the shop and shipping method, choose a Rate Shop or specific service level, review the SLA settings, and then enable it.
Configure SLA Settings
Turn on Set Cutoff Time to define:
- Cutoff Time: The daily cutoff used for SLA calculation
- Must Ship: When the fulfillment order must ship
- Enforce Cutoff Time: Whether the cutoff is enforced when the SLA is calculated
The ship-by deadline is calculated once when a fulfillment order first becomes accepted and does not already have one. Updating a mapping does not rewrite deadlines already assigned to accepted fulfillment orders.
Set the Default SLA
Select Actions → Set Default SLA to configure the SLA used when Cybership cannot use an enabled shipment mapping. The default SLA contains cutoff and must-ship settings; it does not select a carrier or Rate Shop.
Manage Existing Mappings
- Open a row to review or update its matching, routing, and SLA settings.
- Disable a mapping before changing its routing if it should not be used while the change is in progress.
- Use a shop-specific mapping to override an All Shops mapping for the same shipping method.
- Confirm that referenced carrier integrations and Rate Shops remain active.
Troubleshooting
A shipping method uses the wrong mapping
- Compare the received shipping method with the mapping, including spaces and punctuation.
- Confirm whether the mapping is for the correct shop or All Shops.
- Check for an exact mapping that takes priority over a wildcard mapping.
- Check for overlapping wildcard mappings.
- Confirm that the intended mapping is enabled.
A mapping cannot be enabled
Choose either a Rate Shop or a complete specific-service route. For a specific service, confirm that the carrier integration, carrier, and service level are all selected.
An order uses the default SLA
Confirm that the order has a shipping method and that a matching mapping exists and is enabled. Then review the mapping's cutoff and must-ship settings.
