Adaptive Packing Station
Pack and ship using adaptive controllers and button-based stations.
Use adaptive controller buttons to send packing commands and carton barcodes without picking up a handheld scanner. Keep Complete Order on a separate button to reduce accidental completion.
Setting Up an Adaptive Packing Station
Hardware and software
The documented Windows setup uses an Xbox Adaptive Controller, Logitech Adaptive Gaming Kit, and AntiMicro gamepad-to-keyboard mapping software. Connect external buttons through 3.5 mm mono plugs; use slim extension-cable plugs where adjacent ports are close together.
Label each button and cable. Use the same physical layout at stations that will share a profile. Reserve separate buttons for processing and completing an order, then assign the remaining buttons to cartons.
Install AntiMicro on the workstation, connect the controller, and confirm that pressing each button highlights the corresponding input. Disable the Xbox Game Bar controller shortcut if it intercepts a button you need. Installation may require administrator permission.
This guide describes the existing Windows workflow. Other operating systems require a compatible input-mapping tool and separate validation.
Command codes
Configure buttons to type the required code followed by Enter:

Use the command barcode sheet for scanner commands. Carton inputs are specific to your setup: review Settings → Cartons (opens the Cybership dashboard in a new tab) and scan each carton barcode into a text editor to confirm its exact value.
Map buttons in AntiMicro
- Select a controller button, give it a descriptive name, and open Advanced.
- Select an action tile outside its inner rectangle to insert a Text Entry action. Enter the command or carton code and click Insert.
- Select the next tile's inner rectangle and press Enter to add the terminating key.
- Close the assignment window and repeat for the other buttons.
A separate completion button needs only cy0007, then Enter.
For a combined packshot-and-print button, configure this sequence:
- Text Entry:
cy0006 - Enter
- Pause: 0.5 seconds
- Text Entry:
cy0002 - Enter
The pause spaces the inputs; it does not prove that a photo has finished saving. Validate the full workflow at the station and resolve any displayed error before completing an order.
Save and load the profile
Use Save As to save the profile locally as an AMGP file. In Options → Settings → General, enable Close To Tray, Launch At Windows Startup, Auto Load Last Opened Profile, Launch in Tray, and Associate Profiles.
Copy the AMGP file only to stations with the same button layout. On each station, use Load to open its local copy and configure the same startup settings. Different layouts need separate profiles.
Verify the Station
First open a text editor and press every button. Check the exact code, action order, and Enter key. Then test carton selection and packing commands in the intended ShipOS workflow before operators use the station.
- No controller detected: check the controller connection and confirm AntiMicro receives button input.
- Wrong command: check the loaded profile and inspect the emitted text in a text editor.
- No program window: open AntiMicro from its gamepad icon in the Windows system tray.
- Works until restart: verify the saved profile and startup/autoload settings.
