Scales

Use a scale connected through PrintNode to read package weight at a packing station. You can also enter a measured weight manually.

Setting Up Scales

1. Connect a PrintNode-compatible scale to the workstation and install any required manufacturer drivers.
2. Confirm the scale appears and reports weight in PrintNode. Connect that PrintNode account to ShipOS and sync its computers/devices.
3. Open Settings → Scales (opens the Cybership dashboard in a new tab) to check the scale, connected computer, and last sync.
4. Select the scale for the packing station and test a known weight before shipping.

Keep the workstation and PrintNode client online. Check device compatibility before purchasing equipment; a USB or Bluetooth connection does not guarantee support.

Weighing Packages

Place the complete shipment, including its carton and packing materials, on a stable scale. Wait for the reading to settle, capture it in the packing workflow, and verify both value and unit before generating a label.

Enter package dimensions separately. A scale supplies weight, not length, width, or height. Do not subtract packaging weight from the shipment's shipping weight.

Troubleshooting

• No reading: Check the cable, power, PrintNode client, selected scale, and computer. Confirm PrintNode itself can read the scale.
• Old or negative reading: Recheck the device and retry. Readings older than 30 seconds or below zero are treated as invalid.
• Unstable or incorrect weight: Check the surface, zero the empty scale, and follow the manufacturer's calibration procedure. Compare against a known weight.
• Device unavailable: Enter a weight measured on a working scale and confirm its unit before buying a label.

Deleting a scale requires reconfiguring any packing station that used it.
