Notifications
Configure personal notification delivery and manage shared action-required work.
Notifications separate informational updates from work that still needs an owner. Reading a notification is personal; taking, snoozing, and resolving action-required work updates the shared workflow.
Open Notifications
Use the bell in the top navigation for a quick view:
- Action required shows open work.
- Updates shows informational notifications.
- Mark all as read clears your unread indicators without resolving shared work.
Select the full notification center or go to ShipOS → Notifications (opens the Cybership dashboard in a new tab) for the complete workflow.
Notification center views
| View | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Action Required | Shared action board for unassigned, in-progress, and snoozed work |
| My actions | Open work currently assigned to you |
| Informational Updates | Notifications that do not require a shared resolution |
| Resolved | Completed action-required notifications |
The Action Required board has three lanes:
- Ready to take: Open work with no owner
- In progress: Work someone has taken
- Snoozed: Work paused until its snooze time ends
Urgent items are placed before standard items within a lane.
Take, snooze, and resolve work
- Click Take to assign an open item to yourself.
- Choose Snooze to return the item after 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours, or 1 day.
- Click Resolve after the operational work is complete.
An item already owned by another person shows that owner and cannot be taken from the compact controls.
Grouped notifications summarize related action items without turning them into one task. Expand a group to claim, snooze, release, or resolve individual items. A grouped parent remains open until its child work is resolved.
Configure personal preferences
Go to Settings → Notifications (opens the Cybership dashboard in a new tab).
You can configure:
- Enable notifications
- Notification channels: In app, email, or both
- Browser sound behavior
- Individual notification topics available to your app and permissions
Topic preferences apply only to your membership. They do not change what other team members receive.
Announcements remain enabled. Other topics may be hidden when the related feature or receive permission is unavailable.
Read state and workflow state
These states are intentionally separate:
- Read/unread records whether you have viewed your notification.
- Ready to take, in progress, snoozed, and resolved describe the shared operational work.
Marking an item read does not claim or resolve it. Resolving an item does not mark every recipient's copy as read.
