Hospital Inventory

Investigate quarantined inventory and return eligible work to picking or storage.

Use a to separate problem inventory while a is investigated.

Hospital Locations

Open ShipOS → Inventory → Locations (opens the Cybership dashboard in a new tab), create a static location or LPN, and enable Is Hospital. Choose the correct warehouse and identify the physical area clearly.

Hospital stock is kept out of normal sellable and pickable inventory. A reported issue and a physical move are separate steps; verify where the stock actually is.

Hospital Workflow

Report and move affected work

During picking, choose Report an Issue, select the reason, add notes, and confirm. Choose:

  • Change Location to continue from a compatible source without creating hospital work.
  • Quarantine Tote to flag the source and leave unresolved work for hospital review.

Finish unaffected picks before following the hospital-movement prompts. The tote may contain inventory already picked; do not assume reporting an issue moved the missing or damaged source stock into it. See Mobile Hospital Management and Picking Sessions.

Issues found during receiving or counting also need a reason, notes, and the appropriate physical separation.

Investigate

Open ShipOS → Inventory → Hospital (opens the Cybership dashboard in a new tab). Select the affected location or tote and review its issues, reporter, contents, and related fulfillment work. Confirm the actual quantity and condition before choosing a resolution.

Resolve

  • For usable inventory with unresolved picking work, choose Resume Picking when available and review the resulting session.
  • For stock returning to storage, choose Putaway Tote Items when available and complete the putaway workflow.
  • For a verified stock loss or damaged goods, record the reason and use the appropriate stock adjustment. Do not return unusable goods to sellable stock.

Review issue status, inventory, and affected orders afterward. Hospital actions depend on the tote's remaining stock, picking issues, and your permissions.

If Work Is Still Blocked

Check the issue history, physical location, outstanding picks, stock quantities, and available actions. Contact support with the relevant location, issue, and order references if the recorded state disagrees with the completed work.

Use Non-Sellable Locations for stock excluded from sale without an active hospital investigation.
