Generic Carrier Integration
Generate shipping labels without carrier integration for pickup, hand delivery, and non-traditional fulfillment scenarios.
Use Generic for pickup or delivery you arrange yourself. It creates a PDF identification label and an internal tracking reference without a carrier account.
Generic labels contain no postage and cannot be used to ship through USPS, UPS, FedEx, or another carrier. They provide no carrier tracking, pickup, insurance, delivery confirmation, or customs service.
Setting Up the Integration
- Open Settings → Integrations (opens the Cybership dashboard in a new tab).
- Choose Add Integration → Generic.
- Enter a descriptive name and select Enable Generic Carrier Integration. No external API credentials are needed.
Generate a Label
Choose the Generic service in the fulfillment workflow, check the sender, recipient, package details, and generate the label. The PDF includes a barcode and internal tracking reference. Its carrier-postage cost is zero; other operational billing may still apply.
Complete the fulfillment using the normal workflow when the work is ready. Creating an identification label alone is not proof of delivery or carrier acceptance.
For paid postage and carrier tracking, use a supported carrier integration.
Troubleshooting
Check integration availability, a unique integration name, complete addresses, and the displayed error. For a printing problem, reprint the existing correct label and check printer setup.
