Multi-Item Batch Picking

Batch pick multiple orders using totes on the mobile app.

Pick several orders in one session, keeping each order in its assigned tote. See Picking Sessions for batch setup and eligibility.

Create Session

  1. Tap the "+" icon in the header
  2. Set Number of Totes—the number of fulfillment orders to pick (default: 25)
  3. Optional: Select Merchant Teams to only pick orders from specific merchants
  4. Optional: Set Units Per Order min/max to filter orders by total item count (default: min 0, max 10)
  5. Tap Start Picking Session

Pick Workflow

Start Pick

  1. Scan product barcode OR location barcode to open a pick
  2. For LPNs and totes, you can scan either the container or its parent location

First Pick for Order

When picking an item for an order that doesn't have a tote assigned yet:

  1. System shows Select Tote screen
  2. Scan tote barcode OR tap a tote from the list
  3. Tap Confirm [Tote Name]

Hospital totes are marked with a red "Hospital" badge and cannot be selected. If a tote is already assigned to an order, this step is skipped for subsequent picks.

Pick Items

  1. Screen shows:

    • Product name, SKU, image
    • Source location (pick from here)
    • Destination tote (put items here)
    • Remaining quantity to pick
  2. Pick items:

    • Scan product barcode to increment quantity (or use +/- buttons to adjust manually)
    • When done, scan tote barcode OR tap Confirm button

Report an Issue (Decision Step)

From the pick screen, tap Report an Issue, choose a reason, then tap Confirm Issue.

You will then choose one of two actions:

  1. Change Location
    • Checks for alternative locations with available stock
    • If found, opens Change Location so you can keep picking
    • Does not quarantine the order or add a hospital item
  2. Quarantine Tote
    • Reports the issue
    • Flags the affected source location and marks the unresolved order work for hospital handling

If no alternatives are found, the modal stays open so you can choose Quarantine Tote (or cancel).

Auto-Navigation

After confirming a pick, if more quantity remains for the same product/location, the system automatically opens the next pick.

Hospital Items

In multi-item batches, only the unresolved work for the order linked to the tote normally becomes a hospital item. In single-item batches, all remaining allocations at the reported source are grouped together, but picks from unaffected sources can continue. Fully picked orders continue to packing; the shared tote is moved to hospital only for the unresolved remainder.

When all normal picks are complete but problematic items remain:

  1. Alert appears: "Please review and place the flagged orders in the hospital for review"
  2. Tap OK to go to Hospital screen
  3. Select a problematic tote from the list (or scan it)
  4. Scan a hospital location to move the tote there
  5. Tap Move to Hospital OR Remove and resume picking (if the issue is resolved)

Session Complete

When all items are picked, the session automatically closes and displays:

  • Session completion details (type, completion time, orders count, picker name)
  • Performance metrics (total time, eaches picked, orders per hour, lines per hour, and eaches per hour)
  • Orders summary showing all completed orders

A line is one fulfillment-order line, regardless of quantity. For example, one order line containing ten eaches counts as one line. Lines per hour and eaches per hour both use the elapsed time from session start to close. If a completed session has no elapsed time, its totals remain visible but its hourly rates show as unavailable.

Tap Pick Again to create a new session with the same settings.
