Create and track returns for your orders
Returns in MerchantOS let you create returns for your orders and track them as your fulfillment partner processes them at the warehouse. Each return is assigned an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number for tracking.
Return Types
From Order
Create a return from an existing order when a customer wants to send back items.
Manual Return
Create a return without an existing order in the system.
Return Status Flow
Returns move through a series of statuses as your fulfillment partner processes them:
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
Awaiting Label | Return created, waiting for a shipping label to be generated. |
Pending | Return label generated, waiting for the package to arrive at the warehouse. |
Inspecting | Package received and being inspected at the warehouse. |
Receival Complete | Warehouse inspection is complete. Waiting for final resolution. |
Completed | Return fully processed and closed. |
Cancelled | Return was cancelled. |
Warehouse inspection, label generation, and final completion are handled by your fulfillment partner in ShipOS. You can create returns, view their progress, and use Resend Label for an existing label.
Viewing a Return
Open any return from MerchantOS → Returns (opens the Cybership dashboard in a new tab) to see:
- Items — Products being returned with expected and received quantities, condition, disposition, and inspection photos
- Return Labels — Shipping label details with carrier, service, and tracking number
- Charges — Fees associated with the return
- Timeline — Full history of events from creation to completion
